I experienced the blessing of growing up in a Christ-centered family and I made a profession of faith in Jesus during a Vacation Bible School when I was 8 years old. During my teenage years, our church helped me set a good foundation of discipleship in Christ.
During my collegiate years at Lamar University, God provided mentors and ministry opportunities that deeply shaped my calling and heart for ministry. After graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, I spent the first 17 years of my calling in collegiate ministry. I served 8 years as a Baptist Student Ministry Director; first at Navarro College, then at TCU. I then served for 9 years as Young Adult Pastor at First Baptist Bryan. After serving as Campus Groups Pastor at Pinelake Church in Clinton, Mississippi for a couple of years, I came on staff at Central Bible Church as the Connections Pastor in the summer of 2014. Since that time, I completed my Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Seminary as well as expanded my roles at Central to also serve as a Community Pastor. As a part of the Biblical Community team, I serve to help care for and shepherd our people in community, primarily through group life.
I met my incredible wife Shannon in front of the chemistry building at Lamar, and it was instant chemistry. We married in 1992 and have 3 children. I love doing life with my family! You can also easily catch me walking our pup Molly.
