Why We Go

Jesus calls us to make disciples of all nations, and short-term mission teams help us live out that calling through intentional partnerships with our Global Partners. As we serve with humility and love, we grow in Christ and join God’s ongoing work to share the hope of the gospel.

Who Goes

Short-term teams are followers of Jesus who desire to serve Him wherever He leads. Team members stay flexible, teachable, and eager to use their God-given gifts, practical, professional, or creative, to make Christ known and glorify God.

When We Send

We send teams throughout the year as real needs arise, not just for the sake of going. When our Global Partners share an opportunity, we prayerfully form a team equipped to help and go whenever God opens the door to support the work already happening.

In His grace, God calls people to partner with others to accomplish His work in the world. Paul expresses this beautifully in Philippians 1:3-11 and Philippians 4:10-20. In these passages, he demonstrates how the Philippians’ financial support of him was instrumental in the gospel being spread through his ministry. Because of the Church of Philippi’s generosity, Paul was confident that the Lord would continue to bless them greatly

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

What kinds of ministry work will we be doing?

Each trip is unique. Ministry activities vary based on the needs of our Global Partners and may include teaching, outreach, discipleship, service projects, leadership development, or other opportunities they identify. Your trip’s specific ministry focus will be outlined in the trip details.

Do I need previous mission experience to join a team?

No prior mission experience is required. However, we do ask that participants already be serving either at CBC or in the community so they are actively growing a heart of service and living out their faith before they go.

Is there an age requirement for participants?

Age requirements vary by trip and can be found in the details for each opportunity listed above. All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on any CBC mission trip. The only exception to this is the student ministry mission trip.

Do I need to be a member of CBC to go?

Membership is not required, but CBC members will be given priority when trip spots are limited. Anyone interested in joining a team must be connected to CBC and able to provide references from within the church community.

What does the application or interview process look like?

The process begins when you submit your application to the Missions Office. The Missions Director and trip leader will review all applications and work together to build a team capable of meeting the needs our Global Partners have identified. If additional information is needed, the Missions Office will contact you. Once the team is finalized, approved participants will receive an email invitation with a link to register. After completing registration and paying your deposit, your spot on the team is secured.

Will there be training before the trip?

Yes! All participants will attend a mandatory All Trip Participant Meeting after Community Group on March 7, 2027 where you will meet your team and receive key information. Your trip leader will then schedule additional team and receive key information. Your trip leader will then schedule additional team meetings to prepare you spiritually, culturally, and practically for the trip.

Do I need a passport or visa?

All international trips require a valid passport. Some destinations also require a visa. If a visa is needed, your trip leader will notify you and provide instructions on how to obtain it.
