I grew up in a home where church felt more like an obligation than a relationship. It wasn’t until my teenage years that I discovered Jesus wanted a personal relationship with me. After accepting Christ, I experienced His forgiveness and mercy in a life-changing way.
My husband and I have always had a heart for children. For several years, we served with Mission Arlington, teaching kids about Jesus every Sunday at an apartment complex. In 2009, God led us to adopt our youngest son from Ethiopia, and a few years later, we felt called to foster infants. Over time, six babies and a teenager entered our lives, each one teaching us more about faith and God’s love than we could have imagined.
Today, I have the privilege of serving as the Mini-Mix Coordinator, working with first and second graders. I love seeing God’s Word come alive in their hearts and watching their faith grow at such an early age. My husband, Jim, and I have been married for 32 years and are blessed with four amazing kids—Alex (and his wife Mary), Avery (and her husband Aaron), Landen, and Samuel. We love spending time together as a family, especially at the beach or in the mountains.
