My mother followed up on a conversation about the Gospel with me in the back seat of our family car, on the way home from Sea World, when I was a young child. It was then that I was able to see clearly and confidently that I was a sinner in need of a savior, that God sent His son Jesus to be that savior, and that I could commit the rest of my life to following Him.
I received a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in Finance in 2010. But after working in that field for six years, I followed the Lord’s leading and left my job as an analyst to commit to a year-long leadership/discipleship program at Pine Cove Christian Camps, called The Forge. It is there that I gained confidence in the vocational ministry calling the Lord had placed on my life, as well as where I met CBC pastors David Daniels and Keith Smith for the first time, opening the door for me to start serving at this church. Since becoming a pastor, I have begun to work towards obtaining my Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Here at Central, I get the privilege of providing pastoral leadership to communities of people looking to grow in their relationship with the Lord as well as in their connections to others. In addition to being a Community Pastor, I also get to lead our Men’s Ministry, our intern program called CoNEXT, a yearly mission trip overseas, and serve on our Biblical Counseling team.
I am blessed with an amazing wife named Brittany, two sons, Brody and Brayden, and two daughters, Briley and Brynn. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, whether that be on a sports field, around a game table, at a local restaurant, or even just on a couch watching a good movie. I will challenge you in just about any sport, as well as any board, card or video game. Or we can relax and enjoy great conversation over a juicy bacon cheeseburger at any good burger joint, but more than likely Twisted Root.
