I was born and raised in Texas but didn’t grow up in a Christian home—church was something we did occasionally on Christmas and Easter. In high school, a friend invited me to church camp, where I heard and understood the Gospel for the first time. It was there that I committed to live my life for Christ. As I worked through childhood hurts and healing, I began to feel a deep calling to help students navigate their own stories.
I went to college in Kansas to study Biblical Studies on a softball scholarship, but just two weeks into my first semester, I broke both ankles during practice. I lost my scholarship and returned to Texas. Not long after, I began working for the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention in Disaster Relief when Hurricane Katrina hit. I eventually completed my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Event Management in 2013.
I joined the staff at Central Bible Church in 2019, initially serving on the Safety and Logistics Team. In 2022, I transitioned to the Creative Arts Team.
My husband, AJ, and I first started attending Pantego (now Central) Bible Church off and on in 2012 and officially became members in 2016. We got married in 2008 and have been blessed with two amazing kids—our son, Anders, and our daughter, Taren. You’ll see us around campus volunteering in the Children's and Student Ministries. Our family stays busy with fútbol (soccer)—both of our kids play, and we also referee on weekends. When we aren’t on the field, we’re probably watching soccer, playing board games, or trying new foods from around the world. We love serving together and have had the opportunity to go on mission trips to Spain and Brazil.
