Basix Coordinator (birth - 2 years)
I was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. I grew up in church and gave my life to the Lord at 3 years old and was baptized at 11 years old, but I did not truly understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with God and live a life surrendered to him until I was in my early 20s. Becoming a mother at 25 was a key point in refining my faith and accelerating my personal walk with the Lord.
I served in Children's Ministry at my childhood church in Arlington for many years, from the babies - 2nd graders. Straight out of high school I was hired as the Administrative Assistant for the small family-integrated church in Watauga, TX. I went on many short-term mission trips from 2006-2012, and then moved to China with my husband in 2015 to teach English. After several years of working in healthcare and then education and living abroad, our family relocated back to DFW during COVID and landed at Central Bible Church. I joined the staff as the Basix Children's Ministry Coordinator in 2021 and have absolutely loved serving in this capacity! Getting to work with the smallest babies and toddlers in our church is an ever-changing and somewhat chaotic, but extremely rewarding experience. I love connecting with the parents and guardians as well and helping them navigate through the emotions and challenges of dropping off their little ones in our care.
I have been married to my husband, Josiah, since 2014 and we now have three kids: Lincoln, Landry, and Lucy. In addition to working at the church I teach others about how to support their health naturally, as well as homeschool our children and teach at our weekly homeschool co-op. As a family we love being outside, watching baseball (go Rangers!), and traveling and experiencing new places and trying new foods. I enjoy having a creative outlet of some sort, spending time with family and friends, reading, and maintaining a higher rank than my husband in Duolingo studying Mandarin!
