Since changing our mission statement in 2007, Central Bible Church has reoriented its ministry to “make God known by making disciples who are changed by God to change their world.”
Since changing our mission statement in 2007, Central Bible Church has reoriented its ministry to “make God known by making disciples who are changed by God to change their world.”
This missional shift has been reflected in our increasing commitment to bring God’s glorious Gospel to our neighbors and the nations. We are pleased to live out Jesus’ mandate to be a “City on a Hill” (Matthew 5:14) by serving the last, the least, and the lost in our community and around the world.
At home, we have supported strategic Compassion Partners to make Christ known in our city. Recently, God has opened doors for CBC to engage our neighbors and nations right here, on our own campus. The fruit of our missional commitment is apparent:
2009
2009
God providentially brought our ReGenesis brothers and sisters to our campus in 2009 and they were enthusiastically enfolded into our Body. This congregation representing more than 200 refugees from east Africa is growing under the leadership of CBC staff pastor, Method Bigirimana.
2015
2015
CBC successfully launched our “This Changes Everything” campaign in 2015 to retire debt and significantly increase our missions giving. Overwhelming response from our congregation enabled us to give $1 million to mission projects in 2017. Operating debt-free has enabled us to steadily increase our missions giving to 19% of our 2023 budget, up from 1% in 2005.
2020
2020
Seeds were planted for a Spanish-speaking congregation at CBC. Led primarily through faithful volunteers, this young community has grown into Central En Español with a Sunday morning worship service, Community Groups, and Home Groups each week. In 2022, Dani Perera joined our staff team to pastor this important ministry on our campus.
2021
2021
Successful food distribution outreaches during the Covid pandemic highlighted the problem of food insecurity in our area and inspired CBC leaders to open Central Storehouse to provide regular resources to support those in need. In the short time since, Central Storehouse has been supported by dozens of volunteers who are sharing the Good News of Jesus and seeing lives radically changed!
Central Bible Church shines as a City On A Hill, sharing and serving the Gospel. The nations have come to our doorstep through ReGenesis and Central en Español, not to mention many learning English through our ESL ministry and international students hearing about Jesus through weekly connection with CBC friends. The practical needs of our neighbors are being met through Storehouse, not to mention growing Celebrate Recovery and counseling ministries.
God is using you in this place.
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY
To answer this need, CITY ON A HILL is a short term faith campaign to support and expand ministry and mission on our campus. Our goal is to raise $4 million to build a stand-alone Storehouse pantry and renovate a worship space for ReGenesis and Central en Español:
CENTRAL STOREHOUSE
CENTRAL STOREHOUSE
Central Storehouse has steadily outgrown their space in Campus North B. To meet the vision of serving more neighbors and offering vocational training, a 13,500 square foot building “on the hill,” next to our northwest parking lot. This building will also add 4 Community Group classrooms to our campus.
REGENESIS AND
CENTRAL EN ESPAÑOL WORSHIP CENTER
REGENESIS AND
CENTRAL EN ESPAÑOL WORSHIP CENTER
Presently, ReGenesis and Central en Español meet in a space used primarily by our Central students. As Storehouse relocates to a new site, the present Campus North B space will be renovated to provide a beautiful worship center for both of these growing congregations.
REALLY GOOD NEWS!
Proof of CBC’s missional vision can be found in the radical generosity of our attendees. Whenever a local or global need is presented, our church answers the call. Our CITY ON A HILL initiative is no different. Already, a generous donor has pledged $1 million as a matching gift toward other contributions. And, because of our church’s rich generosity in previous years, CBC has been able to steward our savings toward this project and will be contributing $1 million to the goal and about 35 families have already committed $1.4 million toward this goal. So, we are already $3.4 million toward our $4 million goal! We are trusting all the attendees of CBC to get behind this exciting opportunity to make this ministry possible to our neighbors and the nations at our doorstep.
CENTRAL STOREHOUSE
The entry of our new Central Storehouse will welcome hundreds of neighbors each week. A generous waiting area will provide seating in from the elements as clients wait to meet with Storehouse volunteers who share spiritual truth and pray for each neighbor before they shop. Our pantry model dignifies each neighbor by inviting them to make their own grocery choices.
REGENESIS & CENTRAL EN ESPAÑOL
Our new ReGenesis and Central En Español worship center will be located in a renovated space in the north side of Campus North B. Junior High students will get a new space in the north end of Campus North C. Signage, landscaping and new sidewalks will complete our projects!
